Commercial flooring projects rarely happen in isolation. They form part of wider refurbishments, fit-outs, maintenance programmes and construction projects where programme, coordination and the continued operation of the building all matter.

At Derwent, we deliver commercial flooring and hygienic wall cladding projects across the South West, working with property owners, developers, facilities teams, consultants and principal contractors across a diverse range of commercial environments.

From individual refurbishment works to multi-phase projects and major commercial developments, we understand that our role extends beyond installing the specified finish. We need to integrate with the wider construction programme, communicate effectively and deliver our package when the project needs it.

No two commercial projects are the same.

The flooring requirements of a busy public-facing building can be very different from those of a corporate headquarters, mixed-use development or operational commercial facility.

Our broad flooring capability allows us to deliver safety and resilient flooring, LVT, carpet tiles, commercial carpet, wood flooring and specialist hygienic flooring and wall cladding according to the demands of each space.

Rather than treating individual products in isolation, we consider how different finishes work together across the building—balancing appearance, durability, maintenance, acoustics and long-term performance.

Commercial buildings cannot always close while refurbishment works are completed.

Where clients need to remain operational, we work collaboratively to develop an appropriate sequence for the flooring works. This may involve phased installations, segregated working areas or coordination around operational hours.

Careful planning before works begin helps us identify access requirements, preparation, interfaces and potential programme constraints early.

On larger construction projects, our teams coordinate closely with site management and other trades to ensure preparation and installation take place at the correct stage of the programme.
